Day 07 (10/Nov/2013) Leaving the Resort

The day started off with breakfast buffet.
A wide array of food was on offer from both the East & West.

Up until now, we've been holding off raiding the shopping strip of Orchard Rd and the malls in the surrounding area.
It's now time to start exploring them.

We caught the MRT to Suntec City Mall which boasts over 300 shops and restaurants and the world's largest fountain .. woop tee doo.

Fulfilling tradition whilst overseas, the first thing we did was check out what the local supermarket was like.

Nothing took our interest, Lacoste store was disappointing.

Some kind of inside joke between Cat and work friends
Wall of LCD screens
We noticed alot of kids dressed up in Anime costumes throughout the shopping centre.
Upstairs, the 2013 Anime Festival Asia was being held at the convention centre.

Next up, we walked across to Marina Square shopping centre.
Again nothing of interest.

Energy booster ... Matcha Milk & Australian Volcano water lol
Next stop ... Millenia Walk.

From here we decided to check out Vivocity (Singapore's largest mall) via the MRT.

Another MRT station transfer
Half a f*cking hour later, we finally got to the Harbourfront MRT station.
Too many stops. GAH.
Both of us felt really lousy but had to toughen up as we were faced with a massive crowd ahead of us.

A short time later we found ourselves in the middle of this crowd.
Cat was being awfully quiet and struggled to keep up with me.
Next thing I know she was in my arms and looking up at me, glazing helplessly.
We must have looked like a lovesick teen couple in the middle of the mall.
What was actually happening was a Hypoglycemic attack.

Everyone knows something's wrong when Cat goes quiet.
Her sugar levels have been out of whack here in Singapore.
This particular time not being able to eat or drink on the MRT whilst her BGL was coming down meant she was on the verge of crashing.

I led her to refuge in the form of a Sweets Bakery where i explained the urgency of the matter and we were given some Macarons and Coke immediately.
Thank god the waiter understood my English.
Yes that's right, some Singaporeans only under Singlish, not English.

Recovered Cat
Quite good for $18
So many people @ Vivocity but no one carrying shopping bags
Sentosa Island entrance to Vivo City
Ferry to Sentosa Island
Dreading the MRT ride back to Bayfront (Approx 12 stops every 2-3mins) we decided to get a taxi instead.
The Taxi queue was soooo long.
Rather than wait, we thought we'd catch the MRT one station along and catch a cab from there.
We walked out of the MRT station and saw more people waiting for taxis that never came.

We decided to keep walking in hope to flag down a taxi on the street.
Frustration built up as we walked about a kilometer seeing many a taxi but they were all hired.
We came across a Golf club called the Keppel Club which I had actually researched because i wanted to eat this.

Sure enough we crossed paths with an available taxi and it took us back to the hotel in 7 minutes ! and it costed about the same as the f*cking MRT.
F*ck the MRT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We returned to our suite to find our babies arranged by the maids.

We miss our real animals back home
One last swim at the Skypark infinity pool.

Photo bomb

Hungry time !
Couldnt decide between dinner buffet @ Rise or another sitting at The Shoppes foodcourt.
The foodcourt won out.

Pepper Lunch steak !
Cat returned to her chicken rice.
The best to date is still here at this foodcourt at MBS Shoppes
We walked off our dinner by heading over towards the Singapore Flyer via the Helix bridge.

Art Science Museum
Helix Bridge
Marina Bay Sands Tower 3 2 & 1

City Skyline

Singapore Flyer
Not totally satisfied with dinner we had a look at the Singapore Food Trail.

Located under the Singapore flyer, this is a little foodcourt which brings back the nostalgic feel and charm of Singapore in the 1960s.

Fried Oysters

Bit too eggy for me.
Had trouble eating all of it.

Back to across the Helix bridge and into The Shoppes and towards the hotel we go.

Tonight is the last sleep in our suite 4594 at the Marina Bay Sands Resort.
We will definately remember our stay here.
Goodbye to the flair, glitz and splendour.
