Day 08 (11/Nov/2013) Orchard Rd

Last night Cat bought some tea jelly from TWG.

This morning we opted to try the other breakfast buffet available at the hotel.
The Chinese based Jin Shan restaurant.

After breakfast we checked out of the hotel and caught a taxi to our next hotel on Orchard Road.

Singapore truly is a small city.
All of the taxi fares have been less than $15 and each journey around 10 minutes.

In the taxi towards Orchard Rd we realised all that f*cking around on the MRT was silly as we started to recognise places.

We are staying at the Grand Park Orchard which is located on the corner of Orchard and Bideford Rd.
Centre of the shopping strip, across the road from Paragon & Ngee Ann City.

Check in time

Premier room.
Nice little hotel in a convenient location.
The size of this room made us miss the massive MBS suite :(

Green markers indicate Lacoste stores :)
Oopsie

First stop Paragon.
This Shopping centre is upmarket housing luxury brands and Metro department store.

Next stop Lucky Plaza.
This place was a real eye opener, an insight into the real Singaporean locals.
"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore" went through my head.

It was time to get ready for lunch, we promptly retreated back to the hotel.

We headed over to The Raffles Hotel for High Tea.

Whilst Cat was at the buffet ... I ate all the sandwiches.
Oops.

Onwards across the road to Raffles City shopping centre.

Another generic mall with all the same stores and brands.

mmm 458 !
Hotel arrival lobby
Shopping items
Rhinoceros brand cooling water ... ?
Kickapoo drink ... ?
For Trevor

We had a late dinner at the Old Airport Road Food Center.

All taxi drivers are different.
Some are dead quiet, some like to provide commentary, this guy was definately different.
This guy provided in car entertainment crooning to old school R&B.
Humming and singing to Tevin Campbell's - I'm ready in a way that only an old asian man can..

I found the stall with all the right photos.
Time for some crab

Table 101 right infront of the stall
Whilst waiting for my crab, Cat went and bought some Indonesian chicken.

Fresh Soya Bean drink
Our favourite beverage of the trip
Almost closing time ... not many crabs left
White pepper crab

So tasty but my mouth was abuzz with the intense flavour of white pepper overload.
Wish there was more roe :S
Apple Yukult lol
Goodnight.
